A little bit about 1/20:
Xiomara is a Japanese-American teenage girl who lives in the middle of nowhere. She's a punk in the middle of boringville, USA--and she’s been hatching a plot to run away to the city. During the 2008 presidential election, Xi sees something bigger than just voting in a new president -- she sees an opportunity to throw a fist in the face of her boring life, her laid-off and dying factory town, and every adult who's ever told her no.
And the director:
Gerardo Del Castillo Ramirez studied at Universidad Iberoamericana and Film School of Barcelona. He participated in the organization of various cinematic festivals, including the first festival of Mexican cinema in Buenos Aires (2006). Currently, he is the resident philosopher of Bon Pasteur, Barcelona. 1/20 is his first feature film.
